The Green Hydrogen Organisation and International Solar Alliance are convening a joint training program for the green hydrogen economy, “Green Hydrogen Policy Accelerator Training Course”.

The course targets participants from 14 countries in Africa and Latin America, with sessions scheduled at Nile University, Cairo, Egypt. Each day will cover critical topics in green hydrogen, including policy, finance, infrastructure, trade, strategy, standards, and certification. The course will also give participants the opportunity to visit the Suez Canal Economic Zone and Sokhna Port to further understand practical applications and logistics.

The primary focus is to strengthen the Green Hydrogen Innovation Centre (GHIC) and equip government officials with expertise in renewable energy, green hydrogen production, applications, and policy development. This initiative is strategically designed to highlight the pivotal role of GHIC in driving the energy transition and achieving global sustainability and climate objectives, with a special emphasis on Asia, Africa and Latin America as the first key markets for green hydrogen.

In addition to comprehensive training, the initiative seeks to cultivate a strong community among senior officials, fostering collaboration and synergy in advancing their respective countries' green hydrogen initiatives. This training program and the interconnected community in Africa and LAC align closely with the mission and activities of the GHIC, hosted by the International Solar Alliance, amplifying the GHIC's impact and influence on global green hydrogen endeavors. More information about the GHIC is here www.isa-ghic.org

This course will be one of the first activities of our newly launched GH2 Cairo Centre of Excellence based at Nile University. A key objective of the GH2 Cairo Centre is to accelerate the financing of large-scale renewable energy and green hydrogen projects, with initiatives to mobilise and derisk both public and private sector investments. The GH2 Cairo Centre will also serve as the AGHA Secretariat, also promoting cooperation with key export markets including the European Union and Asia.
