Global Renewables Summit

GRS

Over two days, on 21–22 September, political leaders, CEOs, investors and international organisations will gather at the Global Renewables Summit: Delivering Electrify Now during Climate Week NYC to accelerate renewable-powered electrification.

Building on the momentum of the Electrify Now movement launched at the Global Energy Transition and Electrification Summit during London Climate Action Week, the event will bring together governments, business, finance and civil society to advance the policies, investments and partnerships needed to electrify economies faster.

Against the backdrop of continued geopolitical uncertainty and energy price volatility, renewable-powered electrification has become a strategic priority for energy security, industrial competitiveness and long-term economic resilience. As countries prepare for COP31, the Summit will provide an opportunity to demonstrate progress towards tripling renewable energy capacity, scaling grids and storage, and accelerating electrification in line with the COP31 Presidency's ambition to reach 35% electrification by 2035.

The programme will feature a high-level Leaders' Dialogue alongside dedicated roundtables on grids and electrification, focusing on the practical actions governments, businesses and investors can take to accelerate implementation. Discussions will also highlight successful examples of renewable-powered electrification and strengthen collaboration ahead of COP31 in Antalya.

This invite-only event is co-hosted by the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA), Fortescue and Climate Group, in partnership with the European Commission and IRENA - International Renewable Energy Agency.
