8 November 2022, 15:30 - 16:00 (Wind and Solar Pavilion)
Summary: The Planning for Climate Commission is being launched at COP27 to raise awareness for the need for improved planning and approval processes for renewable energy projects. Climate disaster will not be avoided without significantly more hydropower, significantly more solar and wind power, and electrolysers, ammonia plants as well as huge amounts of infrastructure for grid connection and storage facilities. All of this will require approval by hosting governments and buy-in from communities.
