Background
The Green Hydrogen Organisation (GH2) is a non-profit foundation advancing the development of green hydrogen produced from renewable energy and water. GH2 collaborates with governments, industries, and civil society to address climate change by promoting green hydrogen in sectors that require urgent decarbonisation, including steel, fertilisers, marine transport, and aviation.
About the role
GH2 is seeking a motivated and dynamic Policy and Research Intern to support its policy team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about tackling climate change and engaging with the global energy transition.
The successful candidate will play a key role in researching green hydrogen policies and market trends, drafting high-quality policy briefs, and facilitating stakeholder engagement. The position is based in London (Canary Wharf) and operates on a hybrid working arrangement. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities

Research: Conduct research on green hydrogen policies, regulations, and global market developments to inform GH2’s initiatives.

Policy Briefs and Reports: Draft well-researched policy briefs, reports, and updates to GH2’s green hydrogen project database.

Stakeholder Engagement: Support outreach efforts with governments, corporations, and international organisations, including attending meetings and workshops.

Administrative Tasks: Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and document management to ensure smooth operations.

Other Duties: Contribute to other projects or ad hoc tasks aligned with the policy and research function.
Skills and Experience
Essential:

Recent graduate in Environmental Policy, Energy Studies, International Relations, or a related discipline.

Strong analytical and organisational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Interest in the energy transition, green hydrogen, and climate change.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Desirable:

Familiarity with international energy policies and regulations.

Fluency in French or other languages.

Experience with stakeholder engagement, workshops, or policy dialogues.

Basic London Living Wage of £13.85/hour plus potential for a higher rate and then work up the scale based on the candidate’s experience.
