Report from the GH2 and SASHA's Maritime Decarbonisation Roundtable, 10 March 2025, London
On 10 March 2025, the Green Hydrogen Organisation (GH2) and the Skies and Seas Hydrogen-fuels Accelerator Coalition (SASHA) hosted the International Maritime Decarbonisation Roundtable in London, alongside a visit aboard the Green Pioneer. With the International Maritime Organization (IMO) set to decide on greenhouse gas (GHG) pricing mechanisms in April, discussions focused on the need for a strong business case for green fuels to avoid reliance on transitional solutions like LNG or biofuels. Dr Andrew Forrest, Executive Chairman of Fortescue, highlighted that green ammonia-powered shipping is already feasible and urged regulators to fast-track the adoption of Real Zero fuel standards.
